With my ongoing Lykke obsession and slow morph into her ( I’m going to continue to rock the bun until someone on the NYC streets mistakenly asks for my autograph), I’ve heard (wildly and embarrassingly uneducated) people compare her to Grimes.  Yes, Grimes.  And in an unironic, not trying to be funny kind of way.  What?

So I gave Grimes a shot this week.  I listened to her song “Oblivion,” even going so far as to download it because I figured higher exposure to a track, higher chance I might start to want to listen to it.  Such was the case with “Call Me Maybe.”  And it was working.

Until I heard this train wreck with Kreayshawn. Who the hell is Tragik anyway? Don’t know, don’t care.  Ignoring the title, I began to watch the video and was like hmmmm may be interesting.  Then I started to tune into the music.  Give it a spin yourself; don’t let me take the magic away of your first* listen.  You’ll definitely come to appreciate the not-so-subtle differences between Lykke and Grimes, and you’ll definitely be turned off to any future chances you may or may not have wanted to give Grimes.
